About Fournales Australia

Bertrand is a successful businessman and has been running his own enterprise for more than 30 years.

It all started during the filming of “Mad Max” in Melbourne where Bertrand was employed to customise motorcycles for the movie. His job was to transform nine motorcycles into ‘mean machines of the future’.

Bertrand sponsored an expert from France to come to Melbourne and help with the task - he packed a set of Fournales shock absorbers in his suitcase as a thank you gift and Bertrand’s passion for this product grew.

In 1981, he started up his own business as the Australian importer of these full air motorcycle suspension units. At its peak, the business employed 21 people in Melbourne. These days Bertrand runs the business from his home in Bicheno and in true Bertrand Cadart style, does repairs and services from a magnificent old tram on his property.

Bertrand is also active in the community, recently taking an epic motorcycle journey to support depression awareness. Check out Bertrands recent "Black Dog Ride".
